We have to discard the old-fashioned teaching of both science and [patriarchial] religion and begin to look on the forested land surface of the Earth as something that evolved to serve the metabolism of the Earth; it is irreplaceable. It's the corporate farm lobby behind this - whose dealings are so secretive and labyrinthine they make the Freemasons look like a 4H club. Even Atrios wrote that he's given up on understanding the Farm Bill and legislation of its ilk because these people and their operations are so impenetrable.
