Yes, one of the things I like about being British is that our combination of diversity and employment laws are really good and protect workers on all kinds of grounds. Employers are forced by law not to discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion/philosophical belief. Some do it grudgingly but it's increasingly accepted as positive. Yay!
Echoing Tess' comments -- lots of really wonderful things can happen when the law actually does create such changes -- eventually everyone (including employers) sees the benefits. Bravo!
Craving a really decent cuppa (missing Marks & Sparks tea) and a couple of choc biscuits (prefer Jaffa Cakes LOL!) .....
