Next year I will try for the fourth time to grow the indigenous Nymania capensis or Chinese lantern bush which prefers the heat of the Klein Karoo but sometimes deigns to flourish in wilder domestic gardens. It is a cherry-red beauty and birds love the nectar.
Gorgeous petunia!! Simply wonderful -- look at the texture on the petals! Wow! Can you imagine a few black-glazed pots filled with these beauties -- along with the bright green of the potato vine? Or a long red-painted window box filled with these petunias? On a patio with black iron furniture -- and black-and-white cushions and umbrella.
I'm yearning to grow heavily-scented roses, lavender, motherwort, and catnip. I've had no garden for two summers, and I cna't do that any more.
