The
NYT is reporting that a judge has put a permanent halt to Bush's plan to sell off the trees in the Giant Sequoia National Monument, "a soaring woods in central California," to logging companies.
That's right. The Bush junta has given so many tax breaks to Paris Hilton that it is now trying to sell off the trees -- many of which are hundreds of years old -- in our
NATIONAL MONUMENTS to the logging companies. This will, in their bizzaro universe, fund the National Forest Service. Until, you know, there ARE NO MORE FORESTS and then, I guess, we won't need to fund a Forest Service at all.
How fucking outrageous does it have to get?
