First Of The Month Bazooms Blogging

A v. kind monk just reminded me that it's the first of the month and I'd forgotten to do Bazooms blogging.

Ladies! It's the first of the month! An excellent time to do a breast self-examination (BSE)! It's easy to do a BSE; here's how. BSEs, by detecting breast cancer when it's in the early stages, can help to save lives. Set aside some time tonight to do a BSE. If you prefer to do a BSE at a particular time in your cycle, now's a good time to calendar it.

And, the year's almost up. Got $$$$$$ in your cafeteria plan? Had a mammogram this year?????? Schedule one and then schedule lunch with a friend, a manicure, a massage, a trip to a museum. You deserve it.

I would very much like to take inventory of her supply closet.

True nursing story:

Years ago I was working a quiet emergency room shift and I overheard one of the surgeons doing a bedside procedure on a woman who had a benign breast lump.

The woman's husband quite proudly explained, as the surgeon numbed the area and excised the pea-sized little blob, that he himself had found the lump in his wife's breast.

The surgeon, curious, said "Really?! How did you find it?"

And he sheepishly said that he had "dropped his eyeglasses and was looking for them."

Heheheh.

If I had a blog I might put this story up there.

Hecate, I loved your comment about this on Eschaton. I guess your son is about a year and a half older than I am. Happy birthday to him, anyway. :)

So is that what the kids are calling it these days?

our daughter is 22 months old going on 23, and still feeding from the source. people keep coming up to us saying "your daughter is so happy!" well, this is just one reason why...

Actually Nov. 2nd being the Day of the Dead/Adults, not at all a bad day to remind us to go in for a breast exam.

shrimplate has wonderful stories, too.
