Some Days It's Melange, Some Days, Bitter Spice

I'm a big believer in daily practice. There are witches, wonderful witches, who celebrate only the Sabbats, or only the Sabbats and the Esbats, and that's v good. But, for me, being a witch means sitting down daily at my altar. Daily lighting the incense, daily lighting the candles in the candle spells, daily grounding, daily calling the directions, daily casting the circle, daily saying the Ha prayer, daily working several magics, daily listening to the Goddess.

Today, for no more reason than the law of averages, deep magic picked me up and carried me, the way that some occasional wave at the beach will lift you up and carry you. I've called Water a thousand times; today, West picked me up and carried me. And that feeling is the feeling of deep magic.

May it be so for you. May it be so for you

Beautiful boys there, and lovely discussion of your practice. I think it's time to head more in that direction as well, probably more so being a solitary (covens a tad hard to locate in w. TN.)

BTW if you want a yard pond, go make one. It takes a shovel, and a pick/mattock if you have tree roots. Doesn't have to be big, doesn't have to be deep (couple of feet is plenty) and your Landscaping Guy has probably already located where all the underground utilities are which you need to avoid.

After that let the yard tell you where the pond wants to be. Or you could bring me out and put me up for a couple of weeks and I'll do it to your specs. :)

Unless you go nuts with rock surrounds and such it shouldn't be more than a few hundred bucks. And they are nice.

West is my direction. The Salmon of Wisdom is my guide and strength. I hope that when you and I cross the river and rest in the shade of the trees that we do it together.

..but beware the Dumpers!
My brother and I, on first returning to Africa after 10 years growing up in Europe and America, headed straight to the beach at Durban and received the shock of our lives.

Our Mum watched helplessly from the sand as Grant and I were picked up, dumped and turned ass-over-heels in deep water. Terrifying, the first time. Exhilarating all the other times.

Thank you for the description of your beautiful practice. I believe it is true that daily practice, 'familiarizing the mind' with positive energy is the key to meaningful advancement along one's path. I practice a buddhist meditation devoted to a female deity. I am struck at how similar both in content and significance they are.
