My New Name For A Blog

What Athenae Said. Why can't we just give the mothers the Pottery Barn (Goddess, forgive us) crib, and the Ralph Lauren baby blankets?

What's really amazing to me is how "absent" one half of the equation is. No responsibility; no one really expects anything out of you; no problem. Go find yourself.

It's a strange, strange world we live in, Master Jack.

Apart from the fact that this sort of thing may be technically legal, there doesn't seem to be much to distinguish it from other forms of human trafficking.

As someone who searched hard before finding a non-exploitive adoption agency, I agree with much of what you say. There is a very fine line between supporting a woman's choice to carry a baby to term and then placing him/her for adoption and coercing that choice. Yes, there should be support, both financial and social, for the opposite decision. At the same time, those of us who want to adopt to complete our family are not the bad guys. My son, now 15, is one of the greatest gifts of my life and I thank Goddess, and his first mother, every day for him.
