Just Saying.
Oddly, the main message that I took at the time was the witch's snug little cottage. Much like some art work that hangs now in my bedroom.
(And, of course, it's a rip on Baum's story. So's so much of what's happened since then. Seventy years? Where did THEY go?)

I find myself craving a little cottage. This is the promise I have made myself once my children have moved out and moved on. A small cottage, a couple of acres, a garden, a couple of goats, cats and dogs. Perfection.
Another lovely witches cottage is in the movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"
