Alanis, Where Are You When We Need You?

As Ms. Morissette would say, "Isn't it ironic?

I'm still too angry over Cindy Sheehan's treatment to write sensibly about it. This will have to serve for now.

I am putting out an Imbolc healing prayer for Cindy Sheehan on every level,
from the bruises on her arms from the mishandling she recently received,
through soothing of her motherly grief over the loss of her son, and all the way to
healing the violence and killing currently taking place in Iraq.

Is it rude to remind the President how many American soldiers have died since
he started this absurd war? Would it have been even more rude if Cindy
Sheehan's shirt had counted the number of Iraqis who have died in the war, as well
as the American soldiers? Are politeness and respect more important than
human lives? And why is the President of the United States of America so
frightened of a Tshirt?

Irony is dead.

Will the police officers who are outraged at their surveillance by fellow police officers change their behavior towards protestors? or is it a matter of, to quote Futurama, "The worst kind of discrimination -- the kind against me!"?

Nice pairing of links in this post. Everything ties together perfectly, even if you haven't found your own words yet. (You will. Oh, yes, we KNOW you will.)

I have got to stop by here more often. Feel free to yell at me if'n I don't.

I'm with you. It's an outrage. Especially since the Republican woman who was required to leave for HER T-shirt wasn't roughed up or arrested. We're fast approaching the condition of having thought crimes in this country. But just when I think it can't get any worse it does. (I've quit thinking that.)
