I've always thought, as a person with absolutely zero musical talent, that I'd love to learn someday how to play the harp. Now, the
NYT is reporting on a study concerning the effect of live harp music on patients in a hospital recovery room.
One research project by a doctor at the Carle Heart Center in Urbana, Ill., has suggested that harp music in particular helped stabilize irregular heartbeats. I think that's a lovely combination of ancient healing techniques and modern science.
Maybe when I retire . . . .
