Lewis Black on Bottled Water
Derrick Jensen says that we can't have a revolution, because a people who will accept bottled water have no pride. Lewis Black appears to agree.

Well now, there's bottled water and there's bottled water. And there's tap water and really disgusting tap water. I worked in a building in Detroit where they found arsenic in the water being dispensed from the water fountains. And I come from a place where there's a sacred spring, and the water does have nutritional and medicinal value.
And if you turn on the tap in Baltimore and take a swig, you'll think you're drinking from a swimming pool.
I participated in a water tasting (I know that sounds bizarre). You just cannot believe how absolutely wonderful the waters are from New Zealand, Bosnia, and Macedonia. Macedonia is famous for its springs, and Bosnia will be some day when it recovers from the Soviet occupation and subsequent unrest. I am so bullish on Bosnian springwater that I intend to make a pilgrimage there some day before I croak.
I stand accused of driving 200 miles to fill 24 plastic jugs with water. And I wonder what happens to it when it hits the plastic, but I know how good it is otherwise. We now regularly use it in our rituals at Ridley Park.
Yes, there are really crappy bottled waters (Deer Park and Aqua Fina and Dasani all suck). But there are some fabulous ones that are the real McCoy. You can't find them for sale, even on the internet, because the springs don't run fast enough to supply the world.
I'm no Yuppie, but I would pay $10 for one bottle of Antipodes spring water. There are rumors it might someday be marketed in America. I'll stand in fuckin line. (It comes from New Zealand.)
I never believed that 8 bottles a day bullshit. Never. Ever. How could people live in the desert if that was true? On that matter I trust my body. If I feel thirsty, I drink some water. Case closed.
