What I have to say is: go ground.
Yes, Democratic politicians, including those in whom we really, really, really wanted to hope, are timid, corporatist tools. Yes, the best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. Go ground.
This was a skirmish, not the war. We're losing the war, too, but that means that you should go ground.

With all respect, believing in hope with no experience got us a 3rd term of Bush.
Sometimes, we need to open our eyes and see what is really there instead of what we want to see.

Absolutely. You've got to see what's real before you can act in the real world.
And, then, go ground.
I agree with both of you except i don't know how grounding helps -i don't think there is any "dealing" anymore - the oligarch are the only ones benefiting from the deals -- one they learned how to buy our organizations and our unions, maybe withdrawal is all that is left -- into our own small subgroups - Greider wrote a book called "Who will tell the People" and now we are there. Can't use the courts, can't organize....all our organizations doing what is strategic or politically correct, corporations on their boards, how can anyone act in the world?
