Nice! I love pies whether it is with meat, cheeses, vegetables and herbs or with cream fillings, chocolate and fruit. Now that i know they are pagan i love them even more.
Another meat pie or fruit pie lover here too! Make mine apple pie(with a crunchy brown sugary crust) completed by really good cheddar on the side and hot coffee. Or a Scots Meat Pie (aye!)with that wonderful cider-colored brown hard crust, a fresh salad, sliced garden tomatoes and cucumber spears and a large glass of hard cider to wash it down. Crusty bread and good true creamery butter too. Of course -- a Cornish pasty or two will do very well too -- thank you. Do you remember that scene in the movie "Michael" when the gal sang her song that was dedicated to pie?
This is uncanny. I had no idea that tomorrow is National Pie Day and I'm making a Reese's Pieces Pie tomorrow. Yay! I love it even more knowing it's a Pagan thang!
I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."

Oooh, I know what I am doing tomorrow! I just don't know if it will be pecan or apple. Hel, maybe I'll make them both.
