The interviewer fits into the 'gag me' category. I came across one on facebook the other day, being touted by a PR firm as.... The Consumer's Guide to Green Living. I told them that was an oxymoron.
I'm of the Middle Way mind on this topic. What, for instance, is the middle step between petro-based laundry detergent and just going back to the old washboards and lye method? We do have something of an answer, (e.g., plant based cleaners). But what are ppl supposed to do, drop $40 on cleaners, trying out 4 different ones @ $10 a pop? Seems worth it to at least centralize information about our experiences with more eco-friendly models of co-existing with our environment and one another.
And should we find ourselves short on plant-based cleaners, washboards and lye? DFH's FTW! ;)
I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."
