I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."

ah the beauty of Baryshnikov .. he never fails to give me goosebumps
Seeing him at the Kennedy Center was one of the high points of my life. I was in the fifth row. I'd still be sitting there if I could.
I saw Baryshnikov live once. He was directing ABT and no longer dancing; he filled in at the last minute for an injured dancer.
Absolutely amazing. Maybe he didn't leap quite as high, but he still had incredible ballon, seeming to float, hanging in the air.
