Hecate, get thy fanny to Houston and we shall go see The Rogues in person! At the very least, you can hit the TX Ren Fest where many of those pics were taken, it just started last weekend. :) Which reminds me, I need to get my beloved man a kilt - the great thing is, he wants one! :) Blessings for a breezy kilted day! Elspeth
Joe Max, it's all good - he DOES want one! :) He's a chef, so it would probably be more comfy for him in the kitchen than standard chef pants. I have a friend that pretty much lives in his Utilikilt, those are what I was thinking of. They rock. (and Sravana - same for me, mel gibson...not so much, anymore...)
I've had a kilt since July, and I love it. I've been the Town Crier for Yarmouth, NS, since 1996, but I just recently persuaded my Council to fund me the cost of a real uniform, with a kilt. Fraser's Highlanders of the 1760's era. My kilt is Black Watch tartan, which is appropriate to the era.
But, having worn it and enjoyed it, I'm planning to get several other kilts made for more informal wear. Brothers, if you've never worn a kilt, TRY IT ON!
I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."

I could've done without Mel Gibson...

Nice picture, Joe Max! I love the tabbing on your coat! :)
I'm trying to get the gorgeous guy I'm seeing into a kilt, but he's a Sassenach and it probably offends his sense of pride. What a shame...

The kilt rocks for chefs. I am living proof. Come check it out at www.kellythosshay.com. Thanks!
