The psychotic (young, male) elephants rampaging in southern Africa are another symptom of the way that 'civilization' (not humanity, per se) wrecks violence and havoc upon the 'natural order.' the elephants are doing what they are doing, most probably, because humans, in thinnning the herds, have killed off the old bulls and cows who were the modulating influences on the youthful animals,a dn socialized them to appropriate elephant behavior.

civilization is not worth this much chaos, destruction, and violence.
