It's nice to hear a little bit of sanity, perspective, and maturity introduced into the macho nonsense that passes for liberal discussion on this topic.

It was nice to read Digby's sane and mature perspective. She's right, of course, although once I started reading the comments, I saw the same divisive, lying crap. The MSM is to blame for highlighting the statements, but loud-mouthed supporters have adopted them as their own for their own purposes.
It would be better if candidates didn't say anything at all except in tightly-controlled situations. That way he or she can't get into trouble.
I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."
