Landscape Guy so "gets" me.
He came by this afternoon to plot out the Western crocus bed and said, "Oh, by the way, I found
a plant you're going to love for the woodland garden and I ordered you five of them. We can put them in when we put in the crocus. They smell icky, but you're not going to care when you see them."
It's nice to be understood.Turns out, heh, the roots are poison.

ooo, I want! Would look spectacular around the pond. Have to remember to water them though; it is inconvenient to get the hose around to that side of the house.
the place you linked to, do they sell these? never mind, have bookmarked and will look again later (gotta work in a few minutes). They seem very thorough as well as lovely writers: the "almost vaginal spathe" is a perfect description.
That is AMAZING.
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.
They're beauteous.
