Hollywood is so very desperate to find a replacement (and prefer a more American-style one! LOL! It made their teeth grind that Rowlings took control and money to the British Isles) to the soon-to-be-ended (in 2011) Harry Potter series. Of course -- it will be hard to find a storyline that includes a school (and all of the possible storylines there) and a GROUP of diverse characters that literally have the "same" problems as many of us at any age. My favorite series by Katherine Kurtz -- "The Adept" series -- would be MY pick for a series of movies. Beginning with the classic "Lammas Night"
I'm a woman, a Witch, a mother, a grandmother, an eco-feminist, a gardener, a reader, a writer, and a priestess of the Great Mother Earth. Hecate appears in the
Homeric Ode to Demeter, which tells of Hades who caught Persophone
"up reluctant on his golden car and bare her away lamenting. . . . But no one, either of the deathless gods or of mortal men, heard her voice, nor yet the olive-trees bearing rich fruit: only tenderhearted Hecate, bright-coiffed, the daughter of Persaeus, heard the girl from her cave . . . ."
